Malcolm Cunningham has practiced in construction law throughout his career and founded the precursor to Cunningham Law Firm in 1985. Our practice is limited to construction law and related litigation, business litigation and dispute resolution, and all facets of sureties and construction bonds.

Our clients include contractors and design professionals, developers and design-build firms, municipalities and other public entities, sureties and insurance companies, and businesses across many industries. They know they can count on CLF for business-minded solutions, capable representation in court, and attention to detail in contracts and agreements.

Recognized Leaders In Their Field

Malcolm Cunningham earned his law degree from Howard Law School in Washington, D.C. and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1980. After serving as law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, he joined the construction department of a Tampa law firm and has gone on to become respected throughout Florida and nationally in construction law and litigation. He has served in leadership roles of the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section, Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, Forum on the Construction Industry, and the Bonds, Liens and Insurance Division. Malcolm has also written and lectured extensively on issues confronting the industry.

Locally, Mr. Cunningham serves on the Hospice Foundation Board and the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, and is a former Chairman of the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission

Amy Fischer earned her JD from the University of Florida College of Law, and has been admitted to practice in both Georgia and Florida for over 30 years. She concentrates her practice in general commercial litigation with a specialization in construction and surety law. Amy is a  Member of the Torts and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar and has co-authored articles for the Torts & Insurance Law Journal on the economic loss rule and construction insurance.

In addition to her participation in professional organizations, Ms. Fischer is the Secretary of the Daily Bread Food Bank, a non-profit organization providing food to other non-profit organizations in the South Florida area.
